Writing cursive b and B

Lowercase b is a tall letter. It rises to around the top line.
b ends high, at the midline, instead of on the baseline. The letter after it starts from that high bridge stroke, which is why words like "ball" feel different to write.
Watch the difference between b and f and l. Writing them side by side on one row helps.
Capital B reaches around the top line; its main body stays above the baseline.
