Writing cursive q and Q

Lowercase q has a descender. The body sits around the midline, and the tail extends below the baseline toward the descender line.
q finishes with an upstroke from the baseline that leads straight into the next letter, so you keep the pencil down through the word.
Watch the difference between q and g. Writing them side by side on one row helps.
Capital Q reaches around the top line and has a short tail below the baseline. Modern Q also has a tail below the baseline, with a different shape.
